Just have a remote gain control knob put between the head unit and the amp (in other words a volume knob somewhere within easy reach, I have mine mounted on the center console side next to my leg below the shifter) and you will be able to adjust it as necessary on the fly to maintain good balance of sound. CD's are recorded differently and radio varies greatly from CDs so having an easy way to either turn up or turn down your subs independantly from the rest of the speakers makes a big difference.
